Jefferson County Executive Encourages Drivers To Use Caution While Traveling On I-55

(JEFFERSON COUNTY) As many may be aware, road work on the I-55 improvement project has started near the Festus exit and further south at the Highway 67 interchange. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon is encouraging drivers to take it slow.

Gannon says there are a lot of visitors to Jefferson County driving along I-55, so use caution and be mindful of the highway workers.

Workers will continue to make changes to the areas in and near Festus, before moving along further north in the process. The entire project is slated to be completed in 2026.
